INTRODUCTION
This Specifier's Information describes guiding values for step sound reduction and absorption coefficients for a wide range of Junckers flooring systems.
For general information on sound and practical guidelines on acoustics in floor constructions with Junckers solid hardwood flooring see E 5.0.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
In multi unit housing, hotels, dormitories, nursing homes, etc. national building regulations normally require a certain step sound insulation level between horizontal divisions.
For guiding step-sound reduction values for a selected number of Junckers floor systems, see the section about Step sound reduction.
STEP-SOUND REDUCTION - RECOMMENDED VALUES
Here you find guiding step sound reduction values, when installing a Junckers floor system in residential, commercial and sports areas, laid on heavy constructed horizontal divisions.
Floor systems for residential and commercial areas:
22 / 20.5 mm clip system on JunckersFoam or PolyFoam: 16 dB
22 / 20.5 mm clip system on cardboard wool felt, 500 g/m2: 15 dB
14 / 15 mm clip system on JunckersFoam or PolyFoam: 17 dB

22 / 20.5 mm batten system on 39 x 40 mm battens with Junckers DuoWedges and Step Sound Reduction Pad: 19 dB
